John-Paul was raised in a home where discussions regarding finance, economics, and politics were common place. By the age of twelve he was taking every opportunity available to toss his two cents into the heated debates with elders. The compilation of his frugal Swiss heritage, early reading on investing, and desire to understand the business and economic world guided him down his career path.
At the age of 15 he strolled into Maguire Investments with a meager savings from birthday money and chores, a passion for investing, and an eagerness to learn. During his first investment consultation, Steve Maguire offered him an internship at the office. John-Paul worked summers and holiday vacations until he completed his education.
Work
John-Paul began his career with Maguire Investments in June of 1997. During his tenure, he has played various roles, starting at entry level and rapidly progressing. His current capacities include human resources, accounting, and sales.
